Outdoor overnight stay in the hammock

Unique, airy sleeping experience in the Westerwald!

Have you always wanted to sleep completely out in the open and listen to the animals and sounds of the forest at night? Then opt for an extraordinary overnight stay in a hammock in the middle of the forest at the unique Westerwald Lake District!

The adventure

On Saturday morning at 11 am, Ansgar will welcome you and be your guide for the next 24 hours. Ansgar ("Wildnistage") is a certified nature and landscape guide, wilderness educator and firewalking trainer. At the beginning of the tour, he will take you on a 15 km hike through the unique nature reserve and bird sanctuary "Westerwälder Seenplatte", where you will learn about the flora and fauna and hear stories and history about the Westerwald. Towards evening you will reach a nature paradise where you will be allowed to set up your own hammock under supervision. Together with Ansgar you will prepare a balanced and healthy dinner. Your eventful day ends with a cosy campfire before you snuggle up tired in your hammock and watch the starry sky as you fall asleep. Good morning sunshine! The next morning you will be woken up by the sound of birdsong and enjoy a delicious breakfast right in front of your hammock in the middle of nature. After a short hike of about 2 km, you can start your journey home at about 11 am.

Your hammock

Your overnight experience begins gently floating above the forest floor. When hung up correctly, your hammock offers the highest level of sleeping comfort and also protects you from the dampness of the ground.

The tear-proof mosquito net protects you from all crawling animals, and a tarp stretched over the hammock prevents you from getting wet.

The surroundings

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Westerwald lake district. Surrounded by rolling hills and green meadows, the seven ponds of the lake district lie in the middle of a natural oasis. Here you will find the home of some 250 bird species. This German nature reserve and bird sanctuary will be your recreation area for two days.
