Finally, open-air cinema under the stars in Dillenburg again!

After the open-air cinema debut at the Wilhelmsturm last year, the organiser Martin Horne from Siegen is coming to Dillenburg again this year. Between 6 and 11 September, there will once again be a big open-air cinema under Dillenburg's starry tent. In the magnificent setting at the foot of the Wilhelm Tower, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a varied programme in a unique ambience on six evenings, each starting at 8:15 pm.

The first film is EINGESCHLOSSENE GESELLSCHAFT on 6 September. Starring Florian David Fitz, Anke Engelke and Justus von Dohnányi, among others, we accompany six teachers from the municipal grammar school on their way to a relaxing weekend. However, the start has to be postponed due to an incident in the early afternoon.

On 07 September, we go into the second round with WUNDERSCHÖN. Karoline Herfurth's third directorial effort is about the question "When do we feel (wonder)beautiful?". Five very different women turn their backs on the constant mania for optimisation. Sonja, a mother of two, has problems with her body. Her friend Vicky doesn't believe in equality. Model Julie has problems with the demands of the fashion industry. Meanwhile, Julie's mother has problems with her husband Wolfi, who no longer desires her. And Leyla dreams of looking like Julie.

In the drama CONTRA on 08 September, professor Richard Pohl, embodied by Christoph Maria Herbst, tries to get out of trouble after he discriminated against student Naima in a racist and sexist way. Since this was not the first incident of this kind and it was filmed and published on the internet, he has to face the disciplinary committee. In order to improve his chances before the disciplinary committee, he has to mentor the student Naima in an important debating competition.

The programme continues on 9 September with the blockbuster TOP GUN 2: MAVERICK. In the course of the last few years, the life of the former flying ace Maverick has become considerably quieter. Exciting missions, like the ones he was allowed to fly as a young pilot, have long been a thing of the past. Today, as a flight instructor, it is his job to show the next generation of pilots what is important in the cockpit. Recognising that his profession is threatened with extinction since drones take over any missions, he surprisingly has to climb into the cockpit himself once more and carry out a particularly delicate mission.

The highlight of the programme can be seen on 10 September with PHANTASTIC ANIMALS 3: DUMBLEDORES SECRETS. The black magician Gellert Grindelwald is in the process of gathering new followers around him for his dark plans. Hogwarts teacher Albus Dumbledore is aware of the danger posed by the charismatic wizard and fears that Grindelwald might actually succeed in seizing full power in the wizarding world. Only with the help of magical zoologist Newt Scamander and his friends can he stop Grindelwald. On their dangerous mission, Newt and his friends meet not only magical animal creatures but also Grindelwald's fanatical followers. Will Albus Dumbledore be able to use their help to decide the simmering conflict between good and evil in his favour?

The EUROPEAN OUTDOOR FILM TOUR 2021 (E.O.F.T 2021) will close this year on 11 September. After a break due to the pandemic, Europe's most renowned outdoor film festival will start its 20th edition. In seven films, E.O.F.T. 2021 shows long-forgotten worlds and provides an insight into the cinematic future of outdoor sports. The athletes have dedicated their lives to the spirit of discovery and take the audience on a journey through nature. nature and show how much inspiration there is in the world outside and in everyone themselves.

In contrast to last year, however, there are one or two changes. This year there will be a box office in addition to the online advance booking. The ticket prices this year are €8.00 or €11.00 in advance plus fees and €9.00 or €12.00 at the box office. The special prices of 11,00€ resp. 12,00€ are valid on the last evening at the E.O.F.T..
