Bindweide Mine and the Barbara Tower
After a visit to the former winding tower and the opportunity to climb the 96 steps to the viewing platform, there is a guided hike along the Druid's Trail (length: approx. 6 km), which takes participants over the Steineberger Höhe past traces of surface mining of iron ore. On this trail you will reach the still visible pinge, which played a catastrophic role in the biggest mining accident in the region, in which 150 years ago, in March 1872, 14 miners lost their lives. The tour continues past the partially preserved surface installations of the Bindweide mine down to the visitor centre of the visitor mine.
Afterwards, there is a entry into the Bindweide mine.
