As part of our "Abenteuer Heimat" event series, you can discover the historical past of the town of Kirchen an der Sieg on this date.
The historical tour of Kirchen starts in Bahnhofstraße, the former gateway to Kirchen. The meeting point is the entrance to the hospital. From there, the tour goes uphill through Lindenstraße to the ancestral home of the Jung family of factory owners in the "Oberstadt" (near "Jägerheim"), past some of the mansions of the former millionaires.
From the highest point of the tour, the route then descends again to the "millionaires' sleeping place", the historical part of the Catholic cemetery, and finally through Brückenstraße back to the hospital.
History and stories will be discussed, from the Celts to the present day. How did churches become what they are today?
