Ausstellung: "Androiden" von Daniel Greiner

Description

Daniel Greiner was born in Dortmund in 1986 and has been at home in the Westerwald since 1990. After graduating from school in 2005 in the field of printing and media technology at the Fritz-Henßler Berufskolleg in Dortmund, he has now been a freelance artist for ten years. Here Daniel Greiner explains his thoughts on his paintings.

Technology - Fascination and Criticism

My pictures are always thought in their motives to a topic, which then make use of a certain critical note. Quasi after the motto "What is good for the one, is bad for the other!". For example, technology can be a very big help. Especially when it also comes to reducing heavy physical work. If you had to deal with huge amounts of rock, as was the case at Stöffel Park in the past, for example, large machines are of course essential. But technology also reduced the number of employees. And soon we will reach a technological point where very many processes will also be almost fully automated. That's why, at best, my pictures are meant to make you think.

The construction of the pictures

The pictures are built up with several sketches, by hand as well as digitally. A scale-calculated transfer to specially made frames follows. Then the motif is built up in acrylic. Highlights, darkenings, brightenings as well as details, shadings or other are additionally inserted.

Figure of Jack Waeller created

In addition to the paintings, some commissioned work has been done over time. And some of them have to do with the Stöffel Park: For example, the illustration of the herbal liqueur Jack Waeller, which is, after all, also available at Stöffel Park, and more recently the vodka "Twentyfive Million". "Again, a wonderful reference to the region," says Daniel Greiner.
