Through the expressiveness of their texts, the biblical psalms have inspired numerous composers to set them to music over hundreds of years. Some of the most impressive examples are by Giovanni Gabrieli, Heinrich Schütz and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. The Siegen brass ensemble pian e forte will show in its concert that the performance of this often pure vocal music on brass instruments also has its charm.
