As part of the 15th anniversary of the WesterwaldSteig, the Puderbacher Land Tourist Information offers a hike from Döttesfeld to Dürrholz. Part of the trail leads along the 13th stage of the WesterwaldSteig. After the start, the trail leads into the idyllic Grenzbach Valley. In the area of the via ferrata at Hölderstein, the first refreshment station will be waiting for the hikers.
Those who want to, and who have the appropriate climbing equipment with them, are welcome to tackle the via ferrata. The route then continues along the Westerwaldsteig to the barbecue hut in Pleckhausen, where the second stop will be made. Sanitary facilities are also available here. Then it's back to Grenzbachtal for the third stop. After three "hearty" stops, the hike continues to the end point, where coffee and cake await the participants and round off the hike.
The route will be specially signposted for this day. This means that anyone can start the hike as they wish from 10.00 to 12.00 hrs from Döttesfeld. Parking is available either at the starting point in Döttesfeld or at the end point in Dürrholz-Daufenbach. A shuttle bus will connect the two stations on this day. Three stops await you on the approximately 12-kilometre route, where local butchers and bakers will be offering delicacies related to bread and sausages.
The entry fees are € 15.00 for adults and € 5.00 for children up to the age of 12.
Included in these starting fees are: An occasion yodel at the start, a meal at each of the three stations and travel on the shuttle bus. The necessary meal tickets, which are required for entitlement to the food at the three stations, will only be issued in advance (information on advance booking can be found on the website:
www.puderbacher-land.de ).
Drinks at the stations as well as at the end point, where coffee and sheet cake will also be offered to round off the day, are not included in the start fees.
