The famous Sunday fair breakfast, following the 10:30 mass in Gebück, will once again be organised by the citizens' association in collaboration with the Mendelssohn-Bartholdy 1855 Montabaur choir. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Oberkirchspiel-Musikanten from 11.30am.
Rainer's Liedermacher - free open-air concert on the Gebück stage Once again this year, the Montabaur Citizens' Association invites you to a free open-air concert on the Gebück stage.
This year's guests are Rainers Liedermacher - a folk-rock band whose programme includes their own songs as well as songs by artists such as Hannes Wader, Konstantin Wecker, Reinhard Mey, Rio Reiser, Fred Ape, Pete Seeger and others. With their choice of songs, the band places itself in the tradition of singer/songwriters and German-language songwriters.
The band's repertoire reflects current topics such as the fight for peace, against right-wing extremism and social inequality as well as the pressing issues in the course of globalisation and environmental debates. The band's mostly German-language lyrics take up these highly topical issues and pack them into their music in a highly emotional and expressive way.
The selection of songs are musical classics that have lost none of their topicality due to current political developments. In addition to the timeless musical repertoire, it is above all thanks to the musicians' energetic joy of playing that the spark from the stage quickly spreads to the audience during their performances. Please bring folding chairs and picnic blankets!
