Event
A symphony in six movements, inspired by the music of the rock band Queen. Not just a medley, but a great homage to legendary titles such as Radio Gaga, The Show Must Go On, Love of My Life, Killer Queen, Who Wants to Live Forever, Bicycle Race, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions. Musically masterfully performed in styles such as a great Mahler symphony or Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps. Queen fans, brass band fans and fans of classical, romantic orchestral music will all get their money's worth. And to top it all off, the composer even added a choir in some movements. The resulting sonority is incredible and overwhelming.
Singers wanted
Interested singers (all genders) are still being sought for the choir. In only three rehearsals (10, 26 and 30 September at the Westerwald-Gymnasium in Altenkirchen), the vocal parts will be rehearsed separately with choir director Kristin Knautz and united with the Wind Philharmonic Orchestra in the dress rehearsal on 2 October. Anyone who would like to take part in this project is welcome to register directly with those responsible by e-mail: bpak@gmx.de. The Bläserphilharmonie, which is already in its third year of concerts, is legally represented by the supporting association. Its chairman, Sebastian Bätzing, continues to recruit new members. After Corona, support for such cultural projects is more important than ever," says the chairman, "because such large orchestras with top-level literature are rare and need broad support for that very reason.
Dominik Weitershagen, Managing Director of the Kulturwerk in Wissen, is also very pleased to be able to realise this extraordinary project in Wissen. The stage has to be extended especially for this and he expects a great response from the audience due to the combination of symphonic brass music, classical, romantic music, choir music and the appeal of rock music through the Queen songs. For this reason, advance ticket sales have already started. Those who want to share this joy and not miss out on this special musical experience can purchase tickets in advance at all known Reservix advance booking offices or directly at the Kulturwerk. It is a very special honour that we were able to win the state chairperson of the police union (GdP), Ms. Sabrina Kunz, as a guest speaker for the Day of German Unity," says Sabine Bätzing-Lichtenthäler, the presenter, who will lead through the evening. "We are all full of anticipation for an unforgettable German Unity Day with an unforgettable concert," says Bätzing-Lichtenthäler, summing up the mood of everyone involved.
