Open Air: Nina Ogot bringt ein Stück Kenia mit

Description

Ingratiating, gentle rhythms, a serene, calm sound - this is what Kenyan Nina Ogot and her band sound like on her CD "Dala". With her performance in 2019 in Stöffel Park, she moved the body and soul of the audience - and at her open-air concert in 2021, she also enchanted the audience. Now she is back on the basalt stage of Stöffel Park!

Musical ambassador of Kenya

Typical for Nina Ogot, who is a well-known musician in Kenya, are the home-related songs. She is an ambassador of her African culture and values. She does not let others impose an image on her, but represents her own views, which are shaped by her country and her family. Mostly she sings in Kiswahili, sometimes in English. What inspired her to write the songs, what they express, is told at the concert and can be found in short form in the booklet accompanying the CD. She has been honoured by the Treasures of Kenya Initiative as an ambassador for her country. Read more www.treasuresofkenya.org. In the after-action report on her first performance you will find more information and photos.
