Tag der offenen Tür in der Museumsscheune Helmenzen

Description

There is a lot to discover from the past during a visit to the museum barn. The exhibition extends over two floors and offers a variety of insights into times gone by.

Tools for tilling the fields, workshop equipment, old household appliances and tools of the trade, but also interesting individual pieces of a manager's room from the turn of the century and other pieces of furniture from the past can be found here. Three detailed rooms (kitchen, living room, bedroom) show how people lived in the Westerwald more than 100 years ago.

In 2023, the exhibition was redesigned and supplemented with information boards, QR codes and film presentations on old crafts. Now you can watch a film right next to the exhibits showing how the respective objects were used in the past. An exciting journey into the living past.

The museum barn is open from the beginning of May to mid-September on every 1st and 3rd Sunday and on public holidays from 2 - 5 pm.

Admission is free, but the association would be pleased to receive a donation.

The museum barn has been run by the "Arbeitskreis für Heimatgeschichte und Brauchtumspflege e. V." for more than 25 years and is located in 57612 Helmenzen, Gartenweg 3.

Special guided tours can be arranged on request.
