A unique sightseeing tour for the whole family
On a route of about 1.1 kilometres, visitors young and old are taken from the Baroque Old Town Hall and the Protestant castle church to the highest point of the town, Hachenburg Castle. The tour continues past the preserved town walls and the Poppenturm (a tower that forms part of the town walls) to the popular shopping zone, the Schwanenpassage. You can join the tour every Saturday from June - September and Sundays from April - October and on public holidays at 11:00 am. The tour lasts about one and a half hours and starts in the historic town centre’s Old Market Square, at the Lion Fountain. Buy a ticket online from our website or in person at the Tourist Information Office in the Old Town Hall.
Even after you’ve taken the official guided tour, there’s still plenty to discover. Relax over lunch in one of Hachenburg’s many restaurants or take a stroll through the castle gardens. Enjoy the beautiful landscape on a hike on the WesterwaldSteig or visit one of the Hachenburger Westerwald’s many exciting tourist destinations that are just waiting to be discovered.
