New date for the RZ winter hiking day around the Westerwald brewery
The Rhein-Zeitung, the Westerwald-Brauerei, the Westerwald Touristik-Service, the Tourist-Information Hachenburg and Typisch Westerwald are pleased to announce the new date for the RZ Winter Hiking Day! After the originally planned event in January had to be canceled due to the weather conditions, the RZ Winter Hiking Day will now take place on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Take the opportunity to enjoy one of the last days of winter before spring officially begins on March 20.
Varied hiking tours for all fitness levels
On the new date, participants can also look forward to an exciting program with six guided circular hikes that start and end on the Westerwald brewery grounds. With distances ranging from 4.5 to 20 kilometers, there is a suitable route for every fitness level: from ambitious hikers, who start at 8:30 am, to families, who can explore the city on a playful 4.5 km tour from 10:30 am.
Culinary delights and informative experiences
After the hikes, participants can enjoy a wide range of culinary delights on the brewery grounds. Visitors can also find out about the current projects and offers of the Westerwald Tourist Service, the Hachenburg Tourist Information Office, the "Wir Westerwälder" initiative and the Westerwald Association at various stands. A special highlight is the Rhein-Zeitung competition, in which attractive prizes await participants.

Participation in the guided hikes is only possible with prior registration via the booking system at www.westerwald.info/wandern/rz-winterwandertagmöglich.If all places on a tour are fully booked, it is possible to be placed on a waiting list. Individual hikers can also explore the route "RZ 07 - No guide, no problem (approx. 8 km)" on their own. However, registration is still required in order to be able to plan the catering optimally.

The RZ winter hiking day also promises a unique nature experience for young and old in March. The organizers are looking forward to welcoming hiking enthusiasts from the region and discovering the beauty of nature in the Hachenburg Westerwald together in late winter.
