Seven tours - from sporty to family-friendly
The offer is aimed at hiking enthusiasts from near and far: with routes between 4.5 and 20 kilometers in length, there is a suitable route for every fitness level. The longest hike for sporty hikers starts at 8:30 am. Families with children can look forward to a 4.5-kilometre family adventure hike from 10:30 a.m., during which Hachenburg is discovered in a playful way. In addition, the Kleine Wäller "Löwenspur blau" will be offered as a guided hike for the first time this year.
Registration required - tours book up quickly
Participation in the guided hikes is only possible with prior registration. Registration has been open since Saturday, 24.01. and can be done online at

Due to the high demand, the first tours are already fully booked. If a hike is already full, it is possible to be placed on a waiting list. Alternatively, participants can hike the route "RZ 08 - No guide, no problem (approx. 8 km)" individually. Registration and check-in at the Westerwald stand on the brewery grounds are also required for this.
Brewery tours for the first time as an additional offer
A special highlight: for the first time, the Westerwald Brewery is inviting visitors to take part in brewery tours as part of the RZ Winter Hiking Day. These take place every 30 minutes and provide exciting insights into the world of beer brewing. Up to 30 people can take part in each tour. There are also two tours suitable for children (maximum 15 to 20 participants).
Pre-registration is not possible - registration is only possible on site in the beer lobby of the Westerwald brewery.
Culinary delights, information stands and prize draw
After the hike, all participants can enjoy refreshments on the brewery's premises. In addition to the brewery tours, information stands and face painting for children provide a varied supporting program. Another highlight is the Rhein-Zeitung competition with attractive prizes.
Arrival and parking facilities
The start and finish of all hikes is the Westerwald Brewery, Am Hopfengarten 1, 57627 Hachenburg. Parking is available directly at the brewery, at and around the Rundsporthalle (Lohmühle 1), at the former Optimum opposite the Rundsporthalle and at the Realschule (access via Gehlerter Weg or via Herderer Straße and Kantstraße). Further public parking spaces and parking garages can befound on the website of the Hachenburg advertising association.
