1. reason for the relocation/rerouting:
Federal road B 414 from in the direction of Schneidmühle fully closed for one year
Now that the construction work on the new Nister bridge near Nister is in full swing, the federal highway B 414 will be further widened. This is one of several construction measures on the B 414 that are linked to the improvement of the east-west axis between the A 45 and A 3. The B 414 and the B 8 are the most important traffic routes for many commuters in the Westerwald. This makes it all the more difficult to carry out construction work on the route without restricting through traffic. The upcoming section is to receive an additional lane from the direction of Nister and from the direction of Schneidmühle to improve traffic safety. This makes it necessary to renew the two existing structures - the Triebgraben and Hammergraben bridges. In addition, a new structure will be built in the course of the road section as a wildlife passage. The cross-section of the federal highway will change from 8.50 m to 11.50 m wide. Due to this construction work, the B 414 will have to be fully closed to through traffic. Finally, the three existing structures of the old Hammergraben in the Schneidmühle area will be renovated and the feeder roads to Nistertalstraße will be upgraded with a new asphalt binder and surface course. The planned total construction time for the project is approx. 12 months.
There will be a large-scale detour from Kirburg via Neunkhausen, Elkenroth and the L 288 in the direction of Knoten Nister and vice versa. From Schneidmühle in the direction of Hachenburg, the state road (L 281) will also be fully closed to heavy traffic - with the exception of delivery traffic. We would ask businesses in Hachenburg to inform their suppliers that deliveries should mainly be made via the B 413 during the full closure so that the inner-city detour is not too congested.
The existing structures - the Triebgraben and Hammergraben bridges - will be demolished on Mon, 26.08.2024.
