The State Secretary of Rhineland-Palatinate, Petra Dick-Walther, has also cast her vote for the Druidensteig, demonstrating her commitment to the region's tourist attractions.
The fact that the Westerwald is excellently positioned in terms of tourism is also demonstrated by the funding recently approved by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate for the further development of tourism in the region. In particular, the support is intended to further strengthen the areas of digitalization, quality assurance, brand profiling and reach development. The funding underlines the importance of the Westerwald as a sustainable and competitive tourism region.
The Druidensteig itself currently shows how successful this development has already been. With its top ranking, the long-distance hiking trail draws attention to the Westerwald hiking region nationwide and is an example of the high quality of the region's tourism offerings.
The Druidensteig leads over seven stages and a total of 94 kilometers from Freusburg to Hachenburg. Impressive nature, geological features, historical sights and varied landscapes make it one of the most attractive long-distance hiking trails in Germany. The trail was nominated by Wandermagazin from over 100 entries in the category of multi-day tours.
