A strong signal for sustainable tourism
With this certification, Tourist-Info Montabaur and Westerwald-Brauerei Hachenburg are sending out a clear signal for sustainable business practices and the responsible use of resources. They are thus joining a steadily growing community of businesses and institutions that are actively committed to the sustainable development of the Westerwald region.
The Westerwald brewery from Hachenburg is already certified as a "Economy for the Common Good" company and consistently focuses on sustainable processes - from resource-saving procurement to digital processes in the Hachenburg adventure brewery. This commitment has now been rewarded with direct inclusion in the partner network of the sustainable travel destination Westerwald. With its successful TourCert Qualified award, the Montabaur Tourist Information Office has also proven that it actively integrates sustainability measures into its work and is committed to positive development in the region.
Oliver Filby from Westerwald Touristik-Service GbR presented the certificates to the new partner businesses in Hachenburg and emphasized the importance of joint initiatives for sustainable tourism development in the region: "With continuous improvement measures for the region and the upcoming cooperation in the network, we look forward to rewriting Westerwald tourism and positioning ourselves for the future together."
Sustainability as a central development goal
The "Sustainable Destination Westerwald" network was created to specifically promote the sustainable development of the tourism region. The partner businesses are committed to continuously implementing measures for ecological, economic and social sustainability. In doing so, they benefit from close cooperation with the Westerwald Tourism Service and other regional stakeholders.
The ceremonial presentation of the certificates underlines the importance of sustainable tourism development in the Westerwald. The integration of new partner businesses helps to further establish the region as a responsible and environmentally friendly destination.
