Tourist-Information Hachenburger Westerwald breaks new ground at the Taubertal-Festival!

After years of presenting at traditional vacation fairs in neighboring towns, the Hachenburg Westerwald Tourist Information Office has ventured down a new marketing path. For the first time, the tourist information team presented itself at the Taubertal Festival in Rothenburg ob der Tauber from August 8 - 11.

With around 15,000 visitors, the open-air music festival was completely sold out on all four days. On a presentation area of over 50 square meters, the Tourist Information had a lot to offer in bright sunshine. In addition to various hands-on activities, there was also a chill-out area where interested visitors could talk about the tourist attractions of the Hachenburg Westerwald in peace and quiet. A postbox was also set up so that visitors could send sunny vacation greetings from the Tauber Valley Festival to their loved ones at home on a Hachenburg postcard. The focus was particularly on camping, as many of the visitors had arrived with their own camper and were looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature after their visit to the festival.

A highlight on the action area was the tattoo station, where the 15,000 visitors were able to spruce up their festival outfits with a stick-on tattoo of the Hachenburg lion and other stylish motifs. In order to send a greeting to the music acts taking place, visitors were able to get creative and write on the branded Westerwald cardboard.

"We are still overwhelmed by the great response we received at the Taubertal Festival," says Lisa Effert, Head of Tourist Information. "As it was our first campaign in this direction, we didn't know exactly what to expect. We are all the more pleased that there was such a great response and that we were able to record this huge success," says Valentin Herfel, who initiated the idea.

Lisa Effert is particularly proud of and grateful to the team, which consisted of four employees from the tourist information office and four volunteers from the region. "The guys and girls worked day and night and did a great job of bringing festival visitors closer to our beautiful region and whetting their appetite for their next vacation."

It will be decided at a later date whether there will be further events of this kind, possibly with other interesting partners from the region, and whether participation is planned again in 2025.
