The leisure bus line "Blue Line Westerwald-Express" 521 starts at Herborn station. Take the bus to Mademühlen. Get off at the Rotdornstraße stop. This is where the bike tour starts! Initially on the Hessian long-distance cycling path R8 up to the 600 meter high Knoten. Now you turn onto the Ulmtalradweg and cycle past Beilstein down to the Ulmtalsperre. A cycle path leads down directly on the dam and along the country road to the center of Holzhausen. Via Lindenstraße and Eselsberg you go uphill via field and forest paths and the Waldhof Elgershausen to Burg Greifenstein. At the eastern exit of the village take the road down to Edingen and from the center of town follow the Dilltalradweg back to Herborn station.
The descent from Burg Greifenstein to Edingen in the Dill valley is very steep. It is a paved public road with very little car traffic.
You can ring over 100 bells yourself in the Bell World Burg Greifenstein, a nationally significant monument! The castle offers not only a spectacular view from the twin towers but also a magnificent baroque church and mysterious casemates. Above all, the Bell World Burg Greifenstein is the most important bell collection in Europe with over 100 bells.
In Beilstein, at the Ulmtalsperre, and in Greifenstein there are cafés and restaurants. The Ulmtalsperre is also a bathing lake with a beach bar.
