This site, created in 1965, consists of 22 memorial stones located at oak trees, a fountain in the center of the square, and four groups of figures made of shell limestone: farewell of the soldier, a prisoner, a grieving mother, a grieving mother with child. A commemorative plaque invites the visitor to understand this place as a site of remembrance, but also as a call for peace.
Directly on the Kleine Nister on the edge of the forest "Hardt" is the “Ehrenhain”, cenotaph which commemorates the fallen and the missing people from Atzelgift of the two world wars.
