Opposite the charging stations for electric vehicles, there is a large overview board describing the three Erzwege and showing them on a map section.
Behind the overview board, Erzweg 2 starts and first leads into the forest past the Pingen fields and the powder house. On the way into the Gierender Valley, the entrance to the Kohlseifen tunnel is initially on the right. Then the path runs along a former charcoal pile on the left. Up to this point, Erzweg 1 and Erzweg 2 run parallel; from the Gierender Valley, this path leads uphill to the left along the Gierender stream.
A spring called "Hellebierchen" (healing spring) in the dialect rises below the Burschenhütte on the left; the path continues past it heading towards Gierend. The walking route goes through Gierend, then meets Erzweg 1 again and continues back to Westerwaldpark Gierenderhöhe, the starting point of the walk. Information boards are set up at all interesting points along the Erzwege.
