Hiking Trail
Route profile
Notice
In the tour planner we inform you under the tab "Current info" about temporary route changes, closures and detours.
At the interactive stations along the way, you can find out whether you have what it takes to be a real robber: Do you know the “rogue's tine” - the secret language of robbers? Do you know how to quickly build a hiding place? See if you can spit as far as the robber chief Fetzer. Learn how to escape the police's tracking dogs and warn your fellow robbers of pursuers. Have you “passed” all the tasks? Then the “robber's diploma” awaits you at the end of the trail. The 4.7 km long trail is a little more challenging in some places, it leads over hill and dale and there are a few moderate ascents and descents to master. The trail is therefore more suitable for slightly older children who like to hike and let off steam. The trail is not suitable for baby carriages. The narrow paths above the Sieg can be slippery in the rain - a little caution is advised here!

The Räuberweg leads along some narrow forest and meadow paths as well as well-maintained hiking trails.
The varied route initially leads from the parking lot at the campsite into the dense forest and along narrow paths down to the rushing Osenbach stream. From here, the trail winds its way up to the Steckensteiner Kopf on a meadow path. There you can enjoy a fantastic panorama over the Siegtal valley. The sun glistens through the canopy of trees, while the blue ribbon of the River Sieg lines the green valley below. You then continue along a narrow path up a bramble-covered slope until you reach the road. After a short stretch along the road, which is accompanied by open areas of former spruce stands, the Räuberweg turns off into the forest again. Continue on winding paths over hill and dale. Sure-footedness is required here, especially in wet weather. On the steep slope along the Sieg, you cross a wooden bridge before you come across the Osenbach stream with its refreshing babbling waters again after a clearing with an original half-timbered house. In the secluded stream valley, you will find a lovely spot for a picnic. Afterwards, you will return to the campsite along an adventurous path - don't forget to take your robber's diploma with you from there.
In the winter months, the quality of the path may be impaired due to wood clearing work on individual sections of the path. Especially in adverse weather conditions, muddy and slippery passages can occur on near-natural paths. Particularly in the fall, it is also important to note that leaves lying on the ground can conceal uneven surfaces, roots, stones or holes in the path.
The path is therefore more suitable for slightly older children who like to hike and let off steam. The path is not suitable for baby carriages.
The trail is not suitable for baby carriages.
You will need a little stamina and skill on the robber trail and enjoy being a robber.
Please wear suitable hiking boots on the trail, which will give you sufficient grip even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.
At the end of the circular route, all robbers receive a robber's diploma when they register at the campsite.
