Kreuzkapelle

Detailed description

At the outskirts of Waldbreitbach towards Hausen, the Kreuzkapelle is situated by the bank of the Wied. Built in 1694 by the then-serving Pastor Frederici, it served at times as a residence for the founders of the Franciscan Order, Anton Weber from Roßbach and Peter Wirth from Niederbreitbach, as well as Margarete Flesch, the later Mother Rosa, founder of the Order of the Waldbreitbach Franciscans.
The Kreuzkapelle came into the possession of the Hausen Franciscans in 1925 and is used for religious services.

Brief description

Built in 1694 by the then incumbent Pastor Frederici. Home of the founders of the Franciscan order, Anton Weber from Roßbach and Peter Wirth from Niederbreitbach, as well as Margarete Flesch, later Mother Rosa, founder of the Order of the Waldbreitbach Franciscans.
The Cross Chapel became the property of the Hausen Franciscans in 1925 and is used for worship services.
