The Tourist Information at Wiesensee offers a special first aid course for dog owners this summer.
On August 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, participants will gain valuable knowledge about typical emergencies in the warm season for 40 € per person. The course will take place without the participants' own dogs; practice will be conducted on mannequins used by the instructors.
The focus will include measures for heat stroke, sunstroke, and dehydration, as well as safe handling of parasites like ticks and fleas. Current dangers such as blue-green algae, poisonous plants, water intoxication after playing in the lake, and allergic reactions to the oak processionary moth will also be addressed. The program is complemented by practical exercises in vital sign checks and wound care, along with helpful tips for a suitable summer and travel pharmacy for dogs. The course will be led by experienced instructors Lindsay Frank and Tabea Held. The number of participants is limited, and early registration through the Tourist Information at Wiesensee is recommended.
