Detailed description

Wiedtal & Rengsdorfer Land – Take a deep breath!

The Wiedtal and the Rengsdorfer Land are located in the heart of the Rhine-Westerwald Nature Park. The romantic Wied with its narrow river valley and ridges provides the ideal backdrop for a day trip or holiday stay. The Klosterweg connects the RheinSteig and WesterwaldSteig, forming an excellent hiking triangle. The four state-recognized spa towns in the Kloster landscape of Wiedtal and the climatic health resort of Rengsdorf on the heights offer individual hiking opportunities with the best air quality.

The Wiedtal also features the "Wied Cycle Path," a great cycling route. It runs through the beautiful river valley from east to west across the Westerwald and connects varied landscapes over nearly 100 km. For more demanding tours, the side valleys that lead to the heights of Rengsdorfer Land are recommended.

From the 1st Advent until the end of January, the "Christmas Village Waldbreitbach" shines with the large natural root crib in the parish church. Additionally, there is the "Star of Bethlehem," a floating Advent wreath, the floating nativity scene on the Wied, or the Nativity and Bible Museum.

Many other events such as the grand fireworks Wied in Flames or the Wiedtaler Hiking Day (both in August) and all details about these can always be found at www.wiedtal.de. From March to November, regular forest bathing workshops take place, which also offer overnight package deals.

Directly on the Wied, there are 5 campsites. Whether families or travel groups, whether in tents or with motorhomes - all sites offer an unforgettable short vacation experience.
