Villa Kraemer in Kirchen

Detailed description

In 1875, Heinrich Kraemer (II) built the Kraemer Villa on Lindenstraße in Kirchen for his brother Otto Kraemer. Heinrich Kraemer served as mayor of Kirchen from 1884 to 1897 and as a member of the Reichstag from 1890 to 1905. He lived directly opposite in another villa. The Kraemer family had various investments in local companies. In 1924, the villa was acquired by the city of Kirchen. Until the renovation and conversion of the building, the construction office of the Verbandsgemeinde Kirchen was housed here. After the new Verbandsgemeinde administration building (town hall) was completed nearby in 1993 and all departments were consolidated there, the historic Kraemer Villa could be renovated and converted.

Today, the villa is the seat of the city of Kirchen (city office) and includes, in addition to the facilities of the Verbandsgemeindewerke, a wedding room on the upper floor. In the basement of the building, the youth center "Spotlight" of the city of Kirchen is located.
